IL/MO 2013

This weekend was crazy busy for me, and for Frankie, but for very different reasons! Frankie had the joy of spending allllll day Saturday and most of Sunday alone with the boys while I worked our big championship swim meet. I loved every second of my weekend, Frank I'm not so sure!! Ha.

I started bright and early Saturday....even too early for coffee to take it's time to pep me up, so I had to bust out the big guns...

{Red Bull, on deck at 6am. Holler.}

Gotta love the GO GO GO of swim meets. For the kids and parents, I'm sure it feels like a lot of waiting, but for the coaches and bullpen workers (me on Sunday!) it was pretty non stop. Thank goodness my job is amazingly fun...I mean, seriously? I get paid to laugh, encourage, cheer and have fun. I'm one lucky girl.

I'm forever thankful for that Saturday morning swim when I randomly approached a coach to see if they had any openings, and for the amazing Y family I gained. The majority of our kids are done after this weekend, with only our National swimmers still hanging around, waiting for their big meet in a couple weeks. I hope they continue their winning streak....our girls got 1st and our boys got 2nd, with the team coming up 2nd overall. SO PROUD!

The Royal Ball

We had the most fun event this weekend.....an outing to the Royal Children's Ball!

We've been waiting for this to come around again after forgetting about it last year. Basically, a local youth services agency rents out the castle on NIU's campus and host a Royal Ball with dancing, games, snacks and a magician. It was so, so fun. When we told Eddie we were going to go, he declared two things....first, that he was going to wear his knight costume, and second that we wondered if Maddie (our neighbor) had a princess dress. Little romantic boy planned his first date! lol.

{Maddi got Eddie a pink rose and we got Maddi a zebra flower corsage. It was very diva-Maddi!}
{PS, excuse me while I totally tear up while pinning on my boys' first boutonniere. Too cute!}

{Excited to arrive at the castle!}

{at the obstacle course jumping through the rings of fire!}

{Eddie and his spiderman balloon figure...we waited forever in this line, but man it was worth it. That thing is cool!}

{aw, cutie kids}

{check out my handsome boys!! Eddie loves his Daddy-o}

{Me and my brave knight}

{Eddie dancing with Maddi and one of his classmates. At one point he had a whole circle of girls around him! Too funny, considering when we first got there he would only dance if I was out there with him. And let me tell you.....a bunch of kids dancing to the Harlem Shake?! What are you supposed to do with that???}

{Eddie continued to break it down all night, only breaking for some ice cream and chicken nuggets.}

This was seriously one of the most fun family events I've ever been to. Plus! While the kiddos were doing their craft a reporter from the local paper came up and snapped some photos...I'll be sure to post them when it comes out :)

Happy Birthday Amy!

Today is Aunt Amy's birthday, and in honor of her day I'm finally going to post the pictures from when we all went rock climbing! You see, Mac and Amy are members of an indoor climbing gym and they had a family day so we decided to get Eddie to try it out. It was very fun seeing their gym and having Eddie try something new. Not too many pictures of Amy here, but we'll always remember our hilariously fun time and freezing at Culver's afterwards!!

{This boy loves his Uncle Mac time}
{so happy. He really, really tried, but gave up pretty easily. Like Amy said..."the top and bottom aren't speaking to each other"...lol. But he tried, and he loved it}

{Spider Mac}

Another fun day with Amy and Mac was our fake Christmas at our house. Finney loved putting on Amy's boots and trying to clomp around.

{aw, cute}

{time to open presents!}
{cutie boy}

{aunt amy had to help to get him actually moving, haha}

{look at the mischievous little face! he loves flying}

It's very funny, Eddie always goes to Mac and Finn really goes to Amy. At least they each get a fair share of lovin'! I did send a nakie-booty picture of Finn to Amy saying "Finn says party in your birthday suit!" which I won't post here....I do have some shame :)
