The Royal Ball

We had the most fun event this weekend.....an outing to the Royal Children's Ball!

We've been waiting for this to come around again after forgetting about it last year. Basically, a local youth services agency rents out the castle on NIU's campus and host a Royal Ball with dancing, games, snacks and a magician. It was so, so fun. When we told Eddie we were going to go, he declared two things....first, that he was going to wear his knight costume, and second that we wondered if Maddie (our neighbor) had a princess dress. Little romantic boy planned his first date! lol.

{Maddi got Eddie a pink rose and we got Maddi a zebra flower corsage. It was very diva-Maddi!}
{PS, excuse me while I totally tear up while pinning on my boys' first boutonniere. Too cute!}

{Excited to arrive at the castle!}

{at the obstacle course jumping through the rings of fire!}

{Eddie and his spiderman balloon figure...we waited forever in this line, but man it was worth it. That thing is cool!}

{aw, cutie kids}

{check out my handsome boys!! Eddie loves his Daddy-o}

{Me and my brave knight}

{Eddie dancing with Maddi and one of his classmates. At one point he had a whole circle of girls around him! Too funny, considering when we first got there he would only dance if I was out there with him. And let me tell you.....a bunch of kids dancing to the Harlem Shake?! What are you supposed to do with that???}

{Eddie continued to break it down all night, only breaking for some ice cream and chicken nuggets.}

This was seriously one of the most fun family events I've ever been to. Plus! While the kiddos were doing their craft a reporter from the local paper came up and snapped some photos...I'll be sure to post them when it comes out :)
