My dear, sweet son has been busting out the words like nobody's business lately. At his 18 month appointment, the doctor asked if Eddie was putting together two word sentances. At the time, it was a no, but Eddie must have been listening and was all "whaaat? i'm allowed to do that?!?" and has been rocking the sentences ever since.
This morning when we woke up from his nap, Eddie dropped his paci. "Uh-oh" I heard him say when the paci hit the ground. Since he usually likes some quite time before I go and get him, I let him be and he began chatting it up with his favorite duck stuffed animal. Mostly toddler gibberish, which went something like this...
aabadabbba buubbaa ada......an den...uh oh!
He literally said "and then...uh-oh!" in his own little way. OMG! I die. So cute. It was like he was telling the story of what happened to his little ducky!
Then, at lunch, he began dunking his cucumber sticks in his tomato soup (ewww...but he liked it. whatever!) and I asked what he was doing. "Bunk bunk da dumber!" he answered. (Dunking the cucumber!) Seriously. This kid is a riot lately!
The only down side to this 18 month business in the tantrum. OH MY GOD the tantrums. Yesterday, it was over a pair of jeans. They were new, but too big, so I tried to put them away after I put them on him and they practically fell off his little tush. But no, Eddie was already attached to these jeans and FREAKED when I tried to put other jeans on him. Through the tears, he grabbed the too-big jeans and was trying to put them on himself.
All righty......who am I to cramp his style? He rocked those jeans. And I'll admit, he looked pretty damn cute, too. Just don't look too closely at the diaper sticking out, kay?
Opinions...not so fun! Toddler-isms....super fun! Life is a give and take, right?

BEST.DAY.EVER!
IT WAS 60 DEGREES HERE TODAY!!!!
::::::::happy dance::::::::
Eddie and I got to play outside, me with NO JACKET (!!!) and Eddie with a light fleece jacket. He was having so much fun. The tantrum after we came inside was not so fun. But let's focus on the positive, shall we?
I got to "talk" (facebook chat) with my friend Nicole, who is all the way in Germany. I miss her a ton! We still call their old house "Ethan's house" and today when we were walking the neighborhood I asked Eddie who's house that was and he said "dee-tin" (ethan). Soo cute! He misses his buddy, too :)
Not to mention that Nicole commented on my last blog post with a panty chant. Haahahaha!!
I also got to talk to my friend Vicki. Eddie was screaming in the background of our phone call. Vicki is NOT a kid person. Like, as far from a kid person as you can get. Yesterday, after we talked, she sent me a text message along these lines...
(v): there is a child screaming in Target. my uterus just fell out.
(m): bwahahahaaha!
(v): i'm not joking. i just picked up my ovaries and put them in the cart.
(m): i am using this as evidence as to why i need more vicki in my life.
....not a kid person, but probably the funniest person I know.
I went to Target. Enough said. Also, I DIDN'T WEAR A JACKET into Target. Even better!
Oh, and on the way to Target, Eddie found my old camera in the car and kept saying "cheese!" and holding it up to his face. Aww! My little photographer.
So, thank you best day ever. I needed it more than you know!

Panty Cupcakes?
{compliments of my cousin, Jen}
{my own pic of the panty cupcake}
How seriously cute is this? A-DOR-A-BLE. Holy crap, you guys. I'm telling you, when my best bud Stef gets married, she's getting a panty cupcake tower. I am pretty positive that she is the only person on the face of the earth that would not think I was a total creep for giving her lace panties.
How many times have I said panties in the last couple days? It is making me a little uncomfortable. Is it making any of you uncomfortable?
PANTIES!

Hard to Believe
First thing's first....my laptop died. Not surprising to many of you that know the beating that my trusty old junker took, but it still sucks. So, no pictures. All of my stuff for Red Bird Events gone.
Sigh.
I said on facebook today that I was so close to a Britney head shaving incident that it was not even funny. How sad that a computer can have that much of an impact on your life! As a side note, if you're tying to get a hold of me past 7:00, give up. From today on I am turning my phone off once Eddie goes to bed, sometimes even earlier if I need to get away. I am so sick of feeling like I have to check it a gazillion times a day that I'm just done.
Struggling for something to write, I went back into the blog to see what I wrote a year ago. I was shocked to find that a year ago tomorrow I wrote this post regarding the end of the joy that was pumping. Hubby and I were both shocked that it was a year ago. It seems like yesterday! Around this time last year Eddie was also baptized, had his 6 month check up and then I wrote this post regarding not wanting to have another child.
I was shocked to find that no more kids post, since if you scroll down a bit you'll see pretty much the same thing. A little more struggle about having one in this year's post, but overall the same gist. You'll also find lots of me wanting to go outside, being excited that it was in the 50's and basically saying I was sick of winter. How crazy is that? Or, on the other hand, how mundane is my life? I'm shocked that so many of you stick around to read what I write, especially since apparently I seem to write the same crap over and over! HA!
I'll get some new material, guys. I promise!!

Beautiful Bride
Today I was able to spend the better part of an afternoon with some of my most favorite extended family members. It seems like every other time I have been able to get together with them I have either been pregnant or chasing around a baby, so I was so excited to be able to take the time to actually talk and share stories with all of them. And just because I love them so, I want you to get to know them as well!
My Great Aunt Cookie, who is...just....awesome. There really isn't a better way to describe her. The best relative you have? Multiply by twelve and you've got Auntie Cookie. Seriously. She lives in Arizona, I don't get to see her often so when I do it is such a treat. I even took a picture of her on my phone and texted it to my cousin in Florida with the caption "Jealous?" because I'm kinda bratty like that. But when you get to see Auntie Cookie, you brag!
Auntie Lorrie, who is the sweetest, most genuine and caring person ever. Plus I sat next to her and she wore a super soft sweater, so whenever I brushed up against her it was nice :) haahaaha! The only thing that would make her an even better aunt would be if she would comment on my blog once and a while.
HI AUNT LORRIE!! THROW ME A COMMENT!!
My cousin Rachel, who makes me laugh harder than almost anyone I know. I think if we lived closer to eachother, she would totally be my best bud. We would drink wine together and laugh and bake Auntie Cookie's bundt cake. And fight over whether to use four OR five eggs. Oh? And internet? She's having twins!!!
In 2011.
Sorry. I promise to keep the family jokes to a minimum. Rachel is going to kill me.
Judy, who is the single most inspirational woman I know. When I was home from college, not sure where I was heading with my life, she took me to see Iron Jawed Angels at the local community college. This film, this amazing woman who took me to see this film, changed my life. At a time that I was totally just....floating. She grabbed me, gave me a direction and showed me that I can be STRONG. And that being strong is OKAY. She literally showed me this path that I didn't know existed.
I've never told her all of this. Isn't that funny? One moment can have that much of an impact, but you don't ever say thank you.
THANK YOU JUDY. Thank you so much.
Then there's Margie, mother of the bride. I'm not kidding you, Margie has been to every single on of my parties ever. She is possibly one of the most supportive fiftieth cousin twice removed ever. Just kidding. She's only my 4th cousin or something like that. But every shower, wedding, Eddie's birthday party, she's there. And she gives the most incredibly unique gifts you've ever seen. When the earthquake hit a couple weeks ago, I opened my email to see one from her, checking that we were ok. If you knew Margie this would not surprise you one bit.
I wasn't able to spend as much time with my cousin Jennifer, who made the most seriously adorable panty cupcake thing. Yup. You read that right. Cupcake things, filled with lacy little panites. All on a cupcake tower....it was to die for. I cannot wait to make this for someone I know....not that many people I know are close enough for the whole panty gifting thing. I wish I was able to spend more time with her, because I love her bunches! I also want to say that her family is going through a little rough patch, and they are in my thoughts and prayers. If I could give them huge, tight hugs right now, I totally would.
And last, but certainly not least, Dana, who is quite possibly going to be the most stunning bride ever. Her smile lights up a room, she is so cute and happy and I know that all of that is going to show ten fold on her wedding day.
This is normally when I would put an awesome picture of the adorable bride, but I totally sucked on the picture thing today. All of them are pretty half assed...I was having too much fun talking! Oops!!
I love my extended family so, so much. I am so lucky to have such wonderful women in my life. Thank you for making my day a little brighter :) Love you all!!

Happy National Pig Day, ya'll!!
We hope you had as much fun on National Pig Day as we did!
What? You didn't know? Don't worry! We didn't either, until went to the zoo on this beautiful (50 degree!!) day.
{eddie looks excited, doesn't he?}
{the tiger was awesome. he roared! twice!!! can you guess how many times Eddie roared for the rest of the day?}
{a lot}
{lots of animals were missing and Eddie kept saying "where? where?" with his hands like this. aww}
{this goose? duck? bird-thing came up to me and stood right there, stiff as a board, until I took his picture}
{the only time he actually posed for me - with the monkies! he loved them so much, calling them "keys" and saying hi and bye to them}
{the hand you see Eddie holding is mine, but I cropped myself out since I looked horrid and he looked adorable. my little man!}
{walking is funny?}
We hope you had as much fun on National Pig Day as we did!
And a big Happy Birthday to my sister in law, Amy!

me = that friend
My super duper, most awesomely talented photographer friend, Lindsay, posted a question on facebook last night.
She wanted to know if there was some sort of tutu product that she could just put over a baby's back instead of waking it up to place a tutu over their head.
The crafty sort that I am, I said "easy!" and told her to just make a tutu on a headband. "It's like, a 15 minute project!" and like any super duper most awesomely talented photographer (and momma of 2 adorable girls) she pointed out that she doesn't have 15 minutes. Ha! So I offered to make it. We talked colors and I went to work. Let me tell you...it is a sad day when the ladies at Joann Fabrics know you and your son by name...

{like my model?}
{the head band is a super soft material, so if it touches the baby's tummy it won't feel itchy}
It still needs to be trimmed, but I'm scared to cut it too short! Instead, I'm going to let Lindsay know that she is in charge of that decision : ) hehe! I hope it is what she's looking for. If not, it looks like baby Maddi down the street is getting a sweet new tutu! Heh.
