My dear, sweet son has been busting out the words like nobody's business lately. At his 18 month appointment, the doctor asked if Eddie was putting together two word sentances. At the time, it was a no, but Eddie must have been listening and was all "whaaat? i'm allowed to do that?!?" and has been rocking the sentences ever since.
This morning when we woke up from his nap, Eddie dropped his paci. "Uh-oh" I heard him say when the paci hit the ground. Since he usually likes some quite time before I go and get him, I let him be and he began chatting it up with his favorite duck stuffed animal. Mostly toddler gibberish, which went something like this...
aabadabbba buubbaa ada......an den...uh oh!
He literally said "and then...uh-oh!" in his own little way. OMG! I die. So cute. It was like he was telling the story of what happened to his little ducky!
Then, at lunch, he began dunking his cucumber sticks in his tomato soup (ewww...but he liked it. whatever!) and I asked what he was doing. "Bunk bunk da dumber!" he answered. (Dunking the cucumber!) Seriously. This kid is a riot lately!
The only down side to this 18 month business in the tantrum. OH MY GOD the tantrums. Yesterday, it was over a pair of jeans. They were new, but too big, so I tried to put them away after I put them on him and they practically fell off his little tush. But no, Eddie was already attached to these jeans and FREAKED when I tried to put other jeans on him. Through the tears, he grabbed the too-big jeans and was trying to put them on himself.
All righty......who am I to cramp his style? He rocked those jeans. And I'll admit, he looked pretty damn cute, too. Just don't look too closely at the diaper sticking out, kay?
Opinions...not so fun! Toddler-isms....super fun! Life is a give and take, right?
