Lately Eddie's verbal skills have been exploding....a recent development that has us all laughing and having him repeat things a billion times. He knows the word for pretty much everything, giving his own little twist to Ketchup (Ketchy) or chicken (chicky) and today he even hugged our dog Saddie and said "my friend". Could you not die of cuteness?
We're taking advantage of the change, too....not just by using it for our own amusement but to really teach him things, I promise! Our newest goal is to teach him his name and I cannot honestly describe to you how cute it is when he says "Eddie!" because oh my god it melts my heart a little every time. In addition to declaring Saddie his friend this morning, he was also quite into the WTTW shows on this morning, which is rare for him. On Super Why, a show about reading and problem solving, they introduce themselves "The Word Friends!" and say "...and you! You say your name!" to which Eddie proudy responds.....
"MY NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
We're getting there.
