So. The plan for Becky's wedding was to have the whole thing on her parent's property, which worked perfectly. We planned on a country/rustic theme, which worked perfectly for this couple and the place it was held. The property has a hay farm behind it, which served as the perfect background for the ceremony. The reception was held under a tent bumped up to the house, which was perfect because the house gave us an area to put the DJ and cake in order to protect them from the rain.
Oh, yes. It rained. Thankfully, the rain held out until after the ceremony, after dinner and well into the dancing portion of the night....at that point, it was late and some took the opportunity to head home, while the more lively crowd just stuck it out and danced soaking wet. It was so, so perfect.....the bride and groom were happy and I couldn't have asked for a better event :)
{guests were greated by this sign, made by me, of course!}
{the ceremony was held under the arch, which came from the bride's grandparents. I placed roses and hydrangeas into the arch, with rose petals accenting the aisle marked with hanging votives (made by...ahem....me!)}
{the only shot I have right now of the bouquets....bride's is on the left, with red and yellow roses. The bridesmaids carried a mix of hydrangeas and yellow roses. Centerpieces are show here, in the center, with the larger head table arrangement in the background....this picture was taken the next morning, so they all held up pretty well!}
{close up of the centerpieces, with yellow, red and orange roses and a white hydrangea. The mason jars tied with twine worked perfectly for the 'country' theme. The bride selected the glass beads to go in the jars to add some additional color.}
{head table arrangements}
{in order to offset some budget costs, we used disposable place settings (all 140 put together and tied with twine by....me!) that were yellow and orange, alternated by table}
{my gift to the bride and groom - Jones Soda bottles customized with their picture and wedding date. I also made tags to go on the bottles that said 'relax' 'enjoy' 'smile' and 'have fun'. This was placed next to the bar, which had a sign on it that said "Grab a drink, Take a seat and RELAX!" which helped set the laid back feel for the reception}
{and my personal favorite, the haybale couches!!!! These were placed around the fire pit and created an awesome lounge-like environment off to the side}
{one more, because I love it!}
So. Phew! Overall, I am thrilled with the results. We had our struggles, but I am so proud of all of the design elements and so, so thankful for all that I learned through out the planning process.
Now......who's next?
