An Arm's Reach Original Co-Sleeper. It was the perfect solution for us - I wanted Eddie close, but to have his own space at the same time. Well, we decided last night that maybe it was time to put Eddie in his own room. He wakes up many times through out the night because he either lost his paci or moved onto his back, so you either re-position him or replace paci and he is good to go. Frankie and I thought that this disturbance may be because of us waking him up, so maybe if he was in his room he would get some better sleep. YEAH, NO. Not only was he up the same amount, but instead of being able to sleepily reach over, fix him whatever was wrong and go back to sleep without thinking about it I had to - hear him cry, wait to see if he really was awake or would just go back down - second cry, okay time to get up - walk to his room - turn on the nightlight so I can see what is wrong - fix it - make sure he is good - walk back to our room - kick the dog out of my spot - stare at the monitor to make sure he is still okay - sleep. Wake up, repeat 2 hours later. The frustrating part is that he isn't really awake when he cries - he is perfectly sound asleep once you fix the issue. So what do I do? Let him CIO (cry it out) or take the 2 seconds to fix it? Am I creating a horrible pattern here?
Either way, his arm's reach is coming back into our room. I just can't justify having him across the hall when I am still playing the paci game. The worst part is, I decide to move him the night before the banker ball. Which means now I am super tired and have to be awake enough to play happy wife to a room full of strangers. (Oh yes, he sleeps great! Like a charm! No, those aren't black eyes, they're just my enormous bags from not sleeping. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yawn during your story. No, that doesn't mean I think you're boring...I can just see it now) Anyone have any advice? I would really, really appreciate it!
Wish me luck tonight, I think I'm going to need it. Oh, and lots of coffee. Wait, can't have coffee. Lots and lots of luck, then.
