Eddie went down for his nap, I went to the mailbox. Turned around to a locked door. The next sequence of events is so rare, it was karma coming to kick me in the ass. Seriously. We have a keypad on our garage door, so I open the garage and go to open the door to the house and it is locked. Why is it locked? Well, because Frank went out the sliding glass door today because he didn't want the opening garage door to wake Eddie. FUCK. So, I just let the dogs out and probably didn't lock the sliding glass door behind them. Guess where I'm going with this.....locked. I normally keep a key in the garage JUST IN CASE. And what do you know? I used it a while ago and never put it back. Karma, I love you. I will never say another nasty thing about you in my life,
So I run across the street to Jim's house. Why Jim's house, you ask? Well, he's helped me break in before....twice. One instance involving us on the roof of my house, with about a foot of snow on it. Good times! So he calls Frank and I run next door to Keith's house, and have him get his ladder. Doug hears us, comes outside to see what is up. He helps Keith bring over the ladder. I pace infront of the house, thankful for the fact that even if he is still awake, at least Eddie is safely in his crib. In the end, our loft window was open (thank you weather for turning from rainy to sunny a couple of hours ago!) and I was able to pop the screen out and climb in. Eddie was awake, so I went into his room, replaced his paci and he is down for his nap. He's none the wiser. Really, the whole thing lasted about 5 minutes and I have yet another reason to be crazy thankful for my amazing neighbors.
aaaannnndd....back to regular programming, please!
