The other day I was sitting in the playroom while Eddie went to the living room to get his favorite truck. As he scooted his way back to the playroom, he got a look of surprise on his face and said 'Hi Momma!' all excited in a very high pitched voice. He did it 3 more times that day along with just saying 'Momma' a lot.......such a treat! He learned to say Momma a while ago but ditched that when he figured out that 'woof', 'baba' or 'dada' got more attention. I'm so happy momma has entered the rotation again!
What else has added into the vocab? He says 'Hi' (sounds like huuuuhh) and 'bye' (sounds like byiiiiieee!!! very high pitched), but will mostly only say them to Frankie or me. Lately Eddie has been getting very shy around other people at first and then warming up after about 5 minutes....totally weird. He waves constantly, but when we're around a group of people, he won't wave until we've been talking to them for a bit...then he'll randomly start waving and smiling. Like 'OH HAI!! I know you, right?' We figured Eddie had my crazy personality, but he is definitely starting to get some of that stranger danger wariness going. (that picture of him scowling from the Taste? Yeah....that was from Stef trying to get a pic pre-friendly Eddie phase)
He has also started giving kisses on command (open mouth) - something he only used to do to me, but will now do to anyone when they ask for a kiss. He made Nanna and Grandpa's day by giving them kisses galore....it also gets lots of 'awws' from the ladies and Daddy's bank :))) And yes, while it is cute...how do we get him to close his mouth?? Sometimes he even licks my chin....yum! Right now you have to aim for his top lip and hope for the best - LOL.
His favorite things right now include his semi truck (will say 'vrooom' when he pushes it), his paci (norm), sippy cup (water = crazed man), the dog food bowls, Saddie, pointing, trying to climb up his slide, his new Britax car seat (has yet to cry in it, falls asleep in it most of the time and sits up high enough to watch the cars fly by - he says 'whoooaaa' to mostly motorcycles and trucks!), playing in the freezer (?? he thinks this is the funniest thing ever), doors and hinges, pulling all of the books off of the bookshelf and anything and everything to do with buckets - taking things out, putting things in or just pretending to drink out of them.
He seems to be growing and changing everyday. He gets up from naps and looks totally different...in the past couple days not only has his vocab expanded, but he has also really thinned out in his face and body....I'll try to get some new pics up soon, but in the meantime - some from the horse show that Nanna and Grandpa walked Eddie to.....
{kisses for grandpa!}
{Hi horse! I'm told he also kept woofing at the horses...aww :)}
