{4th of July, 2008}

Anyone notice the new header? We are heading to Lake Geneva for the 4th of July!! I spent many a 4th around that little (now booming) town. A little Carlson family history - my parents grew up down the street from each other in the Lake Geneva Beach Association. They met when they were 6 or 7 (I can't remember) on the swing set. As you can guess, I grew up weekending there going between 2 houses...then just one when the Carlson side moved the FL full time...and then due to some family drama, none. Thankfully, Frankie's family has the same idea and his Aunt and Uncle have a home in Abbey Springs, so we spent last year there (and visiting the old beach house...) while I was big, fat and pregnant. This year we will have a villa to stay in with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law so it should be an adventure! The blog has been getting lots of views lately, so if anyone has any tips on traveling for the weekend with a baby, I would greatly appreciate them - just visit the comments section and wow me with your wisdom!

Oh, and because Frankie finally hooked my computer up to the backup drive, I have all of our old pictures! Expect lots of oldies coming back....with Eddie's first birthday around the corner I am having little baby withdrawal symptoms, so I peek at those every couple of days. I'll be sure to share some of my favorites. For now....last year's 4th of July!

So this year should be an adventure. I have to mention that little Michael has added a baby sister this year (born today!!!) so I'm not sure if they will be joining us, but we hope that they will :)))) Maybe baby Makayla can ease my little baby withdrawal symptoms!
