bad day turn around

yesterday, much to my dismay, hubby had to get to work extra early so i had to get up about an hour before my usual time. now, i know....cry me a river, right? but since...well....forever, i've been a 'sleep in' person. i love sleep! i love my bed! i can sleep easily until 11:00am if given the chance. throughout most of my pregnancy i would sleep until 12 or sometimes 1:00 in the afternoon on weekends. sleep is my friend. i'm sure you know how this has changed since a little munchkin came into my life.

so when i have to get up an hour earlier than normal, i suffer. when hubby woke me up, i made my way downstairs and he had to pretty much run out the door. in my half awake haze, i made myself some coffee and went to get my favorite flavored creamer from the fridge. i bought a new bottle the day before and figured that it would still have the foil sealer thing on it since hubby doesn't normally use the creamer.

i was wrong.

i suffered. thinking the foil seal was on there, but not looking to make sure (half awake haze, people!) i flipped open the top and shook it like a mad woman. i shook about half a bottle of flavored creamer all over myself and my kitchen. awesome.

Thankfully, I had this little man to cheer me up.

Armed with my coffee, I jumped on facebook and saw that my mom was taking the day off of work. Yay! Field trip!! I called her up and we decided to go to the Shedd. My day would turn around yet!

{first we stopped at my dad's shop, Bird Ladder}

{then off to the dolphins! eddie had soo much fun watching the dolphins, he would screech everytime one would pop up in the window}

{mom even pet a starfish! i wouldn't even to it. they're huge and kinda gross..heh}

{we hung out in the play zone while the dolphin show was going on....we had the place to ourselves! it was perfect}

{eddie also loved the penguins and even gave one a kiss!}

{one of the best parts of the day...eddie walking on the glass platform above the stingrays. he was so unsure! he would sooo timidly take a first step...then he would be too scared to take another. it was so funny. of course, once we got him to take more than one step, he was so busy watching his feet that he walked into the glass partition thing. bwahaha! we laughed so hard. don't worry...he was walking so slowly that he didn't even bump his head, it was more like a 'whoa! wall!' thing. i promise!}

{eddie loves sharks lately, so i knew we had to go see the sharks. he had lots of fun watching them and 'rawr'ing when he saw their teeth}

{i've been to the shedd a bunch and never noticed this...the shark nursery! those are actual shark eggs. you could even see them moving in their little egg sacks. it was soooo cool!}

Don't you just love it when a bad day ends as a great one?
