Thakful for the Trade

Today is easy. Today, I am thankful for the trade. What is the trade, you ask? Well, usually around once a week Eddie and I take a field trip.

We trade the cornfields for the city, the tractors for the traffic and the train whistles for beeping cars. And every week, a little part of my soul rejoices - the part that is so insanely a city girl it isn't even funny - the part that will forever wish to live among the hustle and bustle of Chicago. The part of me, that loves, and is thankful for, the trade.

We traded our at home fish bowl for our favorite place, the Shedd Aquarium.

We traded splashing in the sink for splashing in the play zone.

We ate lunch next to the lake.

And instead of watching the neighborhood dogs walk by, we watched the waves come in at Eddie's favorite fish tank.

{this little guy was cute.....that is all :)}

Eddie decided that snuggling on the cement while waiting for the show was a good idea.

And we decided that snuggling on the cement was a good trade for snuggling on the couch.

And finally, we traded our normal pre-nap Sid the Science Kid for the Shedd's Aquatic show.

Trade is good. Trade feeds the soul....allowing new things to be thankful for come to the surface.

{and this guy? well, he falls into the just because catagory...isn't he adorable?}
