The truth is we had a rough couple of days in Eddie's world, and I couldn't really think of much to be thankful for, other than our aweome doctor who constantly makes me feel like everything is ok, even when I've got the nervous terrifyed parent look in my eyes. The run down is Eddie fell, must have folded his ear over, and we're happy that he just has a weird looking bruise and not broken cartilage in his ear. So, instead of just writing that, I wanted to wait until I had something positive to be thankful for!
So. Today I am thankful for random, since this Sunday was totally and completely random. It started at my club's "Gobbler Gallop" a 5k run / 1 mile walk to benefit the Heart of a Marine Foundation.....I woke up at 6:30, aka far earlier than I would like to be out of bed :) While checking people in, there was some comotion over someone who had checked in....it turned out to be a guy that I went to high school with...he is now in a popular punk-ish band and people were whispering/pointing/generally excited that he was there. Me, being me, went up to say hello. We chatted for a bit and I left it at that...he was super nice and not douchey too cool for a girl he knew in high school, so that was a bonus. Plus, he was there to help out a foundation that I like, so that was great.
Then I found out that one of my boss's daughters loved him. Sigh. She was trying to sneak a picture of him, so...me being me, I went up, told him the situation and asked him to take a picture with her. Ha! At least I'm not shy! They snapped this picture of me talking to him, and I have to just laugh at it. Oh, random. Thank you for giving me a reason to laugh!
{obviously, iphone picture....paparazzi style!}
The run went well, there were tons of donations and everyone went home happy. After the Gobbler Gallop, I went north to shop with my cousin Jen, see my cousin Rachel for a bit (we snuggled on the couch...cousin love!) and hang out at Jerry and Julie's house. I got almost all of Hubby's christmas shopping done and got some cute ideas for Eddie. I also got to laugh a ton with Jen, so in addition to random, I'm thankful to have Jen home and in my bubble. I love her to bits! And not just because we get yelled at in Claire's for taking pictures with their douche accessories.
{oh yes. jen's rocking the beiber glasses and fuzzy pink hat and yes, that is a sparkly reindeer mask i'm sporting. you're jealous....admit it!}
