Huh? Who's Kate?
Oh, Kate. Kate has inspired me to go back to one of my favorite Chicago Museums. You see, Kate won a contest. A contest to LIVE in the Museum of Science and Industry for 30 days. She is there 24/7, for 30 days. Doing everything, seeing it all and inspiring people to visit the museum. She's using various social medias to document the whole experience and I love to follow her blog....she's funny, smart and a great writer. I am so envious of her time at the museum...she gets full access to the collections, to every door, every nook and cranny....she even watched the sunrise on the roof. Every over inquisitive person (like me!) would be and should be totally jealous of her.
So. Reading about Kate's adventures every day means that I wanted to go to MSI. Hubby was off for Veteran's Day (thanks, vets!) and we decided to head downtown. MSI also decided to have a free day, which means the museum was super busy. It wasn't bad until after lunch time, when it seemed like everyone and their momma (and their stroller) went to MSI.
{standing in front of the awesome tornado in the new storms exibit...sooo cool!}
{eddie's favorite part....making the balloons go up}
{up, up, up}
{they are setting up the christmas trees....obviously in love with the hawks tree!}
{MSI built out of legos!}
{oh, this place. i love it}
{watching one of the science shows}
{eddie driving one of the magnetic cars}
{the top floor of the storm exibit....loud, kinda scary and cool!}
{old main street = a trip to the ice cream parlor for a far-too-big sundae}
{i think he liked it}
{U 505....a perfect place to visit on Veteran's Day}
And then....Kate! Eddie was soo excited to see her. I knew she gave out stamps to kids, so I talked up the stamps from Kate, how she was living there ("she nappin' momma?" "she eatin' momma?") and how we would maybe see her walking around and we could say hi. Eddie was very excited to see Kate.
{and turns out? Kate kinda loved Eddie too!}
{even with a zillion people around (seriously. tons of people waiting to say hi to Kate) she took time to chat with me and Eddie, laughing at his shirt and his love for her and her stamps. She was so super nice! She has seriously been a great addition to MSI and I'm going to miss her blog when the month is over!}
{turns out Kate wasn't giving out stamps today...she was giving out buttons! Check out Eddie's face...he is totally in love with the button}
So thanks, Kate! Thanks for reminding us how special MSI is....Hubby, Eddie and I had a blast there today....we can't wait to go back!
