Plant Trees

I am officially a tree hugging gardening nut. Eddie and I took a trip to the Morton Arboretum today and I fell in love immediately. I went prepared with snacks, water, sunscreen and of course my trusty camera. My assistant, Eddie, was prepared to model in any shots necessary. And then, it happened.........my camera battery died. After a slew of obscenities (in my head....mostly) I sucked it up and decided to enjoy the arboretum anyway...I did get 2 pictures, so I'll post them for good measure. Something is better than nothing! I got a shot of Eddie doing his "smile" for me - he does this every time I pull out the camera now. Too bad it is nothing close to his normal smile and it makes him look a little....scary (Frank yelled at me for the "demon baby" comment so I won't say that...). Funny none the less.....

I wasn't kidding when I said this is my new favorite place - I even got a membership that will get me and a guest in for free (Eddie doesn't count, free until 2!) so we plan to go quite often. Frank and I already have plans to picnic and walk the abundant amounts of trails to visit the new "Animal House" exhibits and the numerous lakes, OR just Eddie and I can go and we can play at the children's garden or just walk around and look at the beautiful flowers and plants. Eddie loves being strolled around anywhere, so even he enjoyed himself which is a feat seeing as he is battling some nasty diarrhea (though no other "sick" symptoms). The arboretum has even inspired me to continue to care for my newly redone garden which we will hopefully finish tomorrow. Oh, did I mention the best part of the arboretum? They have a plant clinic! You can bring in your sick plants for diagnosis. Perfect for an infamous plant killer like me, but I'm sure they will just tell me that I have to, you know-WATER the plants.
