The Great Suburban Blizzard

Twas the day after Christmas and the skies opened up.....


.....and promptly dumped 14 inches of snow on us!



True story. Of course, as we always do on the Saturday after holidays, we went to my parent's house since my brother and sister in law were coming up. Our normal 35-40 minute drive took 1.5 hours and was NOT fun. I was fully intending to spend the night at my parent's house, but the snow stopped when we started to eat dinner and the roads were ok by the time we went home. Granted, I use the term 'ok' loosely, but we made it :)

Long story short, Mac got what we lovingly dubbed as 'butt sleds' for Christmas. We put said butt sleds to very, very good use. Lots of laughter insued. Dad took pictures. Enjoy them below!

Uncle Mac made us a little sledding hill, which I couldn't wait for Eddie to try. He wasn't sure the first time he went down, but the second time and the dozens of other times he went down he loved it! It was the perfect size 'hill' for him. I see lots of sledding down this in the future.....

We're a fun family, let me tell you! After Eddie was done, everyone but my brother and I went inside. Instead of going to warm up, Mac and I went to find a better hill. Instead, we settled for the other side of the yard where we made a couple more tracks and called it a day. It was the most fun I've had during a winter in a while.
