Ups and Downs

Last night we had some of our friends, Phil and Shauna (and their baby Maddi), come over and Shauna mentioned that she didn't expect to see me up and moving so much. I guess I can see that - I do have my good times and bad times, and lets face it....when some one brings in a cute little baby that is just too cute not to hold, well, you feel a little better :) Really though, most of the time I feel pretty ok. Mostly like I had a hard work out and my abs are sore, mixed in with a little bit of nausea. There are times when I really hurt, like this morning when I was trying to change Eddie's diaper and he was throwing a fit (normal) and began kicking me in the stomach. I couldn't get him to stop, and kinda just had to deal with it....until he kicked me right in the belly button (where one of my incisions is) and I screamed and got up to vomit from the pain. Good times.

Thankfully, those moments are pretty few and far between so overall taking care of Eddie on my own has been going alright. He seems to get frustrated that I am not playing on the ground so much, but has started to bring toys to me to play with, so I suppose he is adjusting. It still hurts when he cries and is saying 'up up up' and holding his arms up waiting for me and a hug just isn't what he wants. Poor guy...I hope everything will be normal by Monday at the latest. Keep your fingers crossed!

As a total side note, I asked my surgeon if I could see my appendix (the little bastard, as I call him) after he took it out and he said that he couldn't do that, but he could take some pictures with the scope to show me. Heh....I like the gross medical stuff, so I was excited to see :) I knew my brother would be interested as well, so I was going to post them as my Your 3 Words for the week, but then realized that not everyone is as into medical grossness as some people I know, so I decided to just do it this way. If you'd like to see my insides, you can click this word (picture) in order to see the little bastard that has given me all of the trouble over the past week. If you're not into that stuff, don't click.

Oh, and don't worry - I haven't forgetten about the Shedd and Beluga pictures and I promise they're coming. I also still have to share Grandpa Burp's trick for Eddie, which you do not want to miss - trust me!
